As the youngest of 4 very active boys, and parents that were willing to help nurture our interests, I found myself following in the footsteps of what ever my older brothers were doing. This lead me to participating in every sport we could find from a very young age including snow and water skiing at age 5. Also around the age five was when my parents got involved in the selling soaps and vitamins through Amway. This translated to us kids choking down protein drinks and taking vitamins. I didn’t know it at the time, but the seeds were planted that set a mindset of staying fit and healthy.
Now in my mid fifties, I am very blessed and grateful that I am able an active life without pain. I sleep well, stay active and still participate in many sports. Downhill skiing is still my favorite and also get to enjoy mountain biking, surfing, soccer and most recently ice hockey.
This blog is my attempt to share some of the insights that I have had over the years as an athlete and person focused on staying fit and healthy in body, mind and spirit.
